The wheelchair used as an experimental validation of the proposed system has improved navigation for quadriplegic users. The research group has implemented the system in a way that it can navigate in a semiautonomous mode, in both indoor and outdoor environments. With a set of ultrasonic sensors, a laser beam sensor, a solid-state compass, and accelerometer sensors, among others, the wheelchair provides an ideal platform to test and validate the secure navigation system proposed in this work. 

Studies of deformations of an ice cover, its failure, natural ridging and rafting are of vital importance to ice forecasting, navigation and the safety of offshore structures. Waves as a mechanism of transfer of deformation energy play a part on the local scale and mesoscale. In this paper, we discuss the spectral structure of cyclic deformations of the ice floe. We mainly relied on the Sea Ice Mechanics Initiative (SIMI) field experiment, the Beaufort Sea, 1993-94. Of special interest were the data from the West FallWinter camp (75°N, 142°W ) set up on a 2.1 m thick multi-year ice floe. Tilt-meters, BP-Delta strainmeters and three-axis inertial accelerometers were applied in keeping the record (Fig 1). 

The range of applications where density plays a fundamental role is vast. Density is fundamental in several design problems in industry such as design of condensers, reboilers, liquid/liquid mixer settler units, determination of tower heights and dimensions of storage vessels. This property is also important in the context of inertial fluids used in navigation instruments as accelerometers and gyroscopes. [73]...
