As noted in Chapter f, homeowners with higher incomes and higher property values are more likely to use lawn chemicals than homeowners with lower property values. The cost of lawn care chemicals certainly plays some role in differential use. According to the National Gardening Association, U.S. households spend 222 each on lawn care equipment and chemicals annually, the marginal cost of such an investment this climbs considerably in households with incomes less than 30,000. ...

Singapore was part of Malaysia from 1963 to 1965 and this identification with Malaysia was reinforced with the language associated with Malaysian nationalism, Malay. Not surprisingly, Malay-style street names were dominant in this period. Examples include Jalan Hitam Manis, and Jalan Puteh Jerneh in Chip Bee Gardens (hitam manis sweet darkness puteh jerneh clear whiteness (Tan, 2007 393). 

The National Paint Federation, Paint Industry House, 79-80 High Holborn, London, W.C.l, and the Society of British Paint Manufacturers Ltd., Grosvenor Gardens House, Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.l, are both manufacturers organizations that intend shortly to set up a joint trade association. Both are represented on the Paint Manufacturers Joint Executive Council which they have set up to deal on their behalf with the outside affairs of the industry. 

Consumer goods can be divided into two categories durables and nondurables. Consumer durables include household appliances, power tools, lawn and garden equipment, recreational goods, toys, etc. This market segment is widely diversified, with some very profitable niche opportunities. The downside of business in consumer durables is that the product life cycles are often short and many applications are highly price sensitive. While most of this market is national, the great majority of end users purchase not only from suppliers in the three North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA) countries—the United States, Canada, and Mexico—but internationally, particularly China. Many processors and material suppliers have followed these users overseas in order to serve their customer more effectively than is possible from a firm sited only in the United States.
