Mylanta Liquid

Antiflatulents are used for die relief of painful symptoms of excess gas in the digestive tract. These drugs are useful as adjunctive treatment of any condition in which gas retention may be a problem (ie, postoperative gaseous distention, air swallowing, dyspepsia, peptic ulcer, irritable colon, or diverticulosis). In addition to its use for tiie relief of intestinal gas, charcoal may be used in the prevention of nonspecific pruritus associated with kidney dialysis treatment and as an antidote in poisoning. Simethicone is in some antacid products, such as Mylanta liquid and Di-Gel liquid. 

Mylanta Liquid—simethicone, sorbitol Nephrox Liquid—aluminum hydroxide, mineral oil Original Alka-Seltzer Effervescent Tablets—sodium bicarbonate, aspirin, citric acid, phenylalanine Riopan Plus—magaldrate, simethicone, sorbitol, sucrose Riopan Plus Suspension—magaldrate, simethicone, saccharin, sorbitol... 

Immediately mix 1 part of the 20 mg/mL initial solution with 1 part of either Mylanta Double Strength Liquid, Extra Strength Maalox Plus Suspension, or Maalox TC Suspension for a final dispensing concentration of 10 mg/mL. For patient home use, dispense the admixture in flint-glass or plastic bottles with child-resistant closures. This admixture is stable for 30 days under refrigeration at 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F).

Pirfenidone In an open, single-dose, crossover study of the effects of food and an antacid (Mylanta Maximum Strength Liquid) on the pharmacokinetics of pirfenidone in 16 healthy adults, co-administration with food reduced the rate and, to a lesser degree, the extent of pirfenidone absorption the antacid had no significant effect [2 ].
