Mutagenic complex

Tang, M., Brack, I., Eritja, R., Turner, J., Frank, E. G., Woodgate, R., O Donnell, M., and Goodman, M. F. (1998). Biochemical basis of SOS-induced mutagenesis in Escherichia coir, reconstitution of in vitro lesion bypass dependent on the UmuD 2C mutagenic complex and RecA. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sd. USA 95, 9755—9760. [Pg.226]

The analysis of combustion products presents problems of complexity similar to that of feedstock and raw fuel analysis. A highly complex matrix of aliphatic material often exists (as unburnt fuel in the combustion exhaust), whilst the species of interest, for example, carcinogens or mutagens are often at very low concentrations. A classic example of multidimensional GC is its use in the analysis of flue-cured tobacco essential oil condensate. [Pg.59]

In Vitro Metabolic Activation. The target cells for in vitro mutagenicity tests often possess a limited (often overlooked) capacity for endogenous metabolism of xenobiotics. However, to simulate the complexity of metabolic events that occur in the whole animal, there is a critical need to supplement this activity. [Pg.193]
