By rubbing the surfaces of two regions in different directions, the LC configuration in Fig. 4.7.3 can be realized. However, in these methods, the number of the processes and the production cost increase greatly. To realize the multi-domain mode with plural domains of different LC configuration without serious increase in production cost, a method involving the addition of only one UV...
