Parallel to the growth of the engineering science movement was the evolution of the core chemical engineering cnrricnlnm in its present form. Perhaps more than any other development, the core curriculum is responsible for the confidence with which chemical engineers integrate knowledge from many disciplines in the solution of complex problems. [Pg.25]

More concretely, the aim of our investigation is to examine, from a theoretical point of view, the relation between the non-rigidity of pentacoordinate molecules and the characteristics of the temporal evolution of systems of such molecules towards chemical equilibrium. A complete model for the description of plasma deposition of a-Si H should include the kinetic properties of ion, electron, and neutral fluxes towards the substrate and walls. The particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo (PIC/MC) model is known to provide a suitable way to study the electron and ion kinetics. Essentially, the method consists in the simulation of a (limited) number of computer particles, each of which represents a large number of physical particles (ions and electrons).
