Mouse wheel

Press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard and use your mouse wheel to move left or right. [Pg.10]

The wheel in the center of a Windows mouse is referred to as the mouse wheel, wheel button, or scroll wheel. Many Windows applications now take advantage of the mouse wheel for scrolling and zooming. While I don t want to seem like a mouse salesman, I must say that once you ve used a mouse with a wheel, you ll wonder how you ever lived without it. This is doubly true for ACID 3.0. [Pg.10]

FIG. 1. Firing-rate patterns in SCN slices from wild-type mice kept in constant darkness (DD) or in 12 h light-12 h dark (LD) cycles. The running wheel activity patterns of the mice over the last 7 days prior to slice preparation is indicated above the records. (A) Circadian rhythm in multiunit activity (MUA) in the SCN of a wild-type mouse, previously kept under DD conditions and isolated at CT2 (B) Circadian rhythm in MUA activity in the SCN of a wild-type mouse, previously kept under LD conditions, and isolated at CT2. Black/ grey and black/white bars above each plot indicate the subjective night/day and night/day respectively. CT, circadian time. Hamlet is the Zen-less man, whose energy, like a mouse In a wheel, goes round and round Inside him and Issues, not in action, but in talking. [Pg.54]

Another task in which short-term memory can be differentiated from long-term memory is the radial maze (Olton 1986). This apparatus consists of a central platform with arms radiating from it like the spokes of a wheel. A hungry rat or a mouse is placed in the centre of the maze and can find food at the end of each arm. An ideal performance during a trial would be for the animal to visit each arm once to collect food. This task requires therefore that, during a trial, the animal... [Pg.35]

The first type of mouse we ll discuss is the opto-mechanical type. This type of mouse contains a round ball that makes contact with two rollers—one for the x-axis (the horizontal) and one for the y-axis (the vertical). Moving the mouse causes the ball to roll, and because the ball is in contact with the two rollers, it causes them to turn. These rollers are connected to wheels with small holes in them (Figure 6.5). Each wheel rotates between the arms of a U-shaped optical sensor. The holes allow a light to shine through the wheel onto the optical sensor in flashes as the wheel turns. By the speed and patterns of the light pulses, the mouse senses the speed and direction it is moving and sends its interpretation of those movements to the computer and the mouse control software. [Pg.234]

The mouse was invented in 1964 and began its life as a simple wooden box with rolling wheels. [Pg.984]

Zooming in and out on the timeline is one of the most fundamental skills needed to master ACID. Fortunately, zooming is very easy, especially if you have a mouse with a wheel button. [Pg.11]

Zoom in until only one measure (or less) is visible. Use the mouse scroll wheel or the zoom arrows at the bottom of the timeline. [Pg.88]

Zoom in and ont on the Chopper timeline with the mouse scroll wheel, the + or — huttons on the right of the horizontal scroll har, or hy dragging the edge of the horizontal scroll har itself. [Pg.94]

Comment. We can rotate 3-D plots by specifying coordinates, changing values of three numbers in the dialog box or with the mouse. If the mouse has a center wheel, we can rotate the wheel to zoom in or out of a three-dimensional plot. [Pg.258]
