Motors centrifuges

Fig. 4.1-27 shows a multistage canned-motor centrifugal pump with a separate water-cooling circuit for the motor, such as is used, for example, to circulate carbon dioxide at 300 bar system pressure. The pump rotor is mounted in the motor area the tandem pump stages operate over-mounted on both sides of the bearings. This arrangement is recommended if the required differ-... [Pg.161]

High-pressure specification canned-motor centrifugal pumps can provide the solution for the hardest pumping duties. The pump illustrated in Figures 8 and 8.1 has to pump a corrosive suspension in a continuous flow at a starting temperature of 250°C and an inlet pressure of... [Pg.602]

High-pressure specification canned-motor centrifugal pumps solve problems in areas which could not previously be aided by conventional pumps. Simple, space-saving construction, high availability, absence of emissions thanks to prevention of fluid escape and greatly reduced noise output are characteristics that are desired in modem industrial plant not only by operators but also by legislators. [Pg.608]

Multistage canned-motor centrifugal pumps are also available. These deliver a greater head but are limited to powers of 200 kW and less by economic reasons and competition from shaft-sealed centrifugal pumps. [Pg.294]

The test loop consists of a circulating pump, pipe loop, and a pressur-izer. The circulating pump is a Westinghouse model lOOA canned-motor centrifugal type [5]. This pump delivers 100 gpm at a 250-ft-head and is constructed for operation at pressures up to 2500 psi. The loop and pressurizer are heated by means of electric elements cast in aluminum around the outside of the piping. [Pg.202]

At this time the only pumps considered capable of meeting these requirements are of the hermetically sealed canned-motor centrifugal type. They consist of a centrifugal pump of standard hydraulic design and an electric drive motor, built in an integral unit. [Pg.413]
