Specifically, they are suitable for and have been used for heat sinks (diamond), short wavelength optoelectronic devices (GaP, GaN, SiC), high-temperature electronics (SiC, GaN), radiation resistant devices, and high-power/high-frequency electronic devices (diamond, GaN, SiC).
