Mixing ancillary equipment

A second method of minimizing the labour content is to operate a continuous mixing system. In this case labour utilization is very low and the function of the muter is chiefly to act as a buffer vessel to eliminate surges in feed rate of the components. A continuous system does not, therefore, have the disadvantage of increasing depreciation costs and labour costs are reduced. Whilst such a system minimizes the mixing unit costs, it should be emphasized that the costs of ancillary equipment will increase as the emphasis is placed on the controlled flow of solids from a storage system. [Pg.61]

Some developments in machinery and ancillary equipment for internal mixing in the mbber industry are examined. Studies of rotor designs undertaken by Kobelco Stewart Bolling are reviewed. [Pg.102]
