The Agricultural Runoff Management (ARM) Model, developed by Hydrocomp Inc. for the U.S.EPA (2 ). It simulates the hydrology, sediment yield, and nutrient and pesticide behavior of the land phase of the hydrological cycle. The same organizations also developed the Non-Point Source (NPS) Model (3) which handles the washoff of miscellaneous pollutants from land surfaces. 

Tlie Ryznar index gives a general tendency of course, but it does not show the influence of certain important parameters such as Cl and NOJ ions, NH3, miscellaneous pollution, etc. When the index is used, it should therefore be supplemented by information specific to the water, the system or its environment. 

Miscellaneous Reactions. Ethylene oxide is considered an environmental pollutant. A study has determined the half-life of ethylene oxide ia the atmosphere (82,83). Autodecomposition of ethylene oxide vapor occurs at - 500° C at 101.3 kPa (1 atm) to give methane, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and ethane (84—86). 

Of the three categories, the packed column is by far the most commonly used for the absorption of gaseous pollutants. Miscellaneous gas-absorption equipment could include acid gas scrubbers that are commonly classified as either wet or diy. In wet scrubber systems, the absorption tower uses a hme-based sorbent liquor that reacts with the acid gases to form a wet/solid by-product. Diy scrubbers can be grouped into three catagories (1) spray diyers (2) circulating spray diyers and (3) dry injection.
