Million Dollar Hill

Because of its proficiency in dispatching enemy troops the 4.2-inch mortar in Sicily acquired the nickname Goon Gun. The infantry called it Million Dollar Hill because of the large number of rounds fired on it. The artillery also participated in the smoke mission. [Pg.428]
