In O section DFT Computational Chemistry in Action, we present an analysis of the performance and applicability of DFT. We focus on a representative selection of chemical properties and system types, and base our review on the most recent benchmarking studies, which encompass several well-established density functionals together with the most recent efforts in the field. Due to the multitude of papers that report DFT applications, our analysis is far from complete, but we aim to present a representative snapshot of the current situation of DFT at the end of the first decade of the new millennium.
