Micro-organisms motility

Many cells and organisms can move tmder their own power. Movement to a new location may offer the cell new resources. Motility however is not a characteristic of all living organisms. Animals are typically motile, whereas plants are non-motile. In micro-organisms motility is dependent on the type of organism and sometimes even on the stage of the life cycle the cells have reached.
