A bolaamphiphile with two central secondary amide groups and terminal lysine amino groups assemble to uniform, long tubules. The inner diameter is 50 nm, the membrane thickness 4.4 nm. These tubules were quantitatively isolated in solid form by lyophilization. Shorter bolaamphiphiles give micellar rods (Figure 9.5.2). [Pg.502]
