Metal-free Alkylations by Acyl Halides on Polymeric Supports 

Phosphorus ylides are metal-free carbon nucleophiles that provide irreversible reactions and have been shown to react with support-bound aldehydes. DoUe et al. have reported such a transformation using 4 equiv. of the Wittig reagent in THF [382]. 

Another use of the immobilized carboxyhc acids is the Dakin-West reaction, which has recendy been employed during the synthesis of some indole derivatives [384]. 

Other reactions involve simply the use of suitable carbanions, which have been shown to replace fluoro functions of support-bound aromatic rings bearing electron-withdrawing groups (EWG).
