Overdose of menthol, particularly over long periods, can occur with overuse of mentholated cigarettes. Inhalation can result in ataxia, confusion, euphoria, nystagmus, and diplopia (7).

The Hoffmanns obvionsly ignored what Wynder and Hoffmann [see p. 527 in (4332)] wrote abont the findings of Bock et al. (355) on the specific tnmorigenicity of the MSS from menthol cigarettes ... 

The results of Bock et al. [355] suggest no difference in tumorigenic activity of heptane-soluble tar from a mentholated cigarette compared with a plain cigarette when tested on a gram-to-gram basis.

The mechanism of menthol interaction in the body, as mentioned above, is confirmed by other studies. Willis et al.
