Mechanical spectrometer test method

In the present study, a new experimental set-up has been developed coupling a Raman spectrometer to an EHL test rig with extended performances. The pressure measurement resolution, the mechanical stability of the test rig and the range of operating conditions are improved. Pressure maps and longitudinal pressure profiles measured for various operating conditions are shown. The numerical solutions of the isothermal EHL point contact problem are compared to experimental results. The aim is to validate the developed experimental method and to show its possibilities, not only for pressure measurement but also for the study of the lubricant behaviour.
