Mechanical drawing

Different systems may require different protocols to obtain one of many possible graphs, and several protocols in one system often achieve the same result. At entry level, all this may seem a bit bewildering, but to anyone who has struggled with mechanical drawing tools to make a simple line drawing like Fig. 1-8, SigmaPlot seems a miracle.

There are two ways of representing this, according to which resonance form of the enolate anion is used. Although the preferred resonance form (charge located on the oxygen atom) should be used as the nucleophile, because carbon is acting as the nucleophile and a new C-Br bond is formed, the less-favoured resonance form is frequently employed in mechanistic pathways. This makes mechanism drawing rather easier, but is technically incorrect.

Shroud constmction is of Plexiglas or vinyl material to enhance the unidirectional airflow to the working surface. The ceiling of the area is constructed of the HEPA filter face with lighting projected below the HEPA filter face. The average illumination at work surfaces is approximately 500 lux. Whenever you start to work out a mechanism, draw all the bonds and all the substituents of each carbon atom affected throughout the mechanism. Three-bonded carbon atoms are likely to be the reactive intermediates. If you attempt to draw condensed formulas or line-angle formulas, you will likely misplace a hydrogen atom and show the wrong carbon atom as a radical, cation, or anion.
