It is interesting to note that the 2000 year group reported prior to the September/ October 2001 anthrax attacks and prior to 9/11 however, the student group s responses were provided after such events as the World Trade Center attack of 1993 and Timothy McVeigh s 1995 mass murder of the occupants of the Federal Building in... 

This is where we make our first mistake, thinking that terrorists act in the manner they do because they are mad, nonrational, disturbed, or psychotic. In the case of Timothy McVeigh, we might be able to characterize him and his actions in this manner. Yet, again, McVeigh is the exception that proves the rule—terrorists attacks, by real terrorists, are primarily planned beforehand by a group. It is important to remember that McVeigh acted primarily alone. 

Notwithstanding exceptions to the rule, such as Timothy McVeigh (a so-called red-blooded American, born and raised in America) and that other idiot (whether a national or foreigner) who mailed the anthrax, terrorism was foreign to us.

On April 19,1995, a bomb exploded at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The devastating impact of the explosion destroyed the building within eight seconds. Each of the nine floors collapsed on top of one another. The bomb killed 168 people and injured hundreds more. The nation was stunned to learn that the attack had not been committed by international terrorists, but by a domestic terrorist, American Timothy McVeigh. 

Timothy McVeigh, who built the bomb that destroyed the federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995, and the Irish Republican Army both have used ammonium nitrate as the main explosive ingredient in deadly truck bombs. 

Two American men, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, used a truckload of ammonium nitrate and other materials to blow up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 19, 1995. The event was one of the worst terrorist incidents ever on American soil. 

ANFO is a high explosive made from Ammonium nitrate and fuel oil. This is the type of explosive Timothy McVeigh used to attack the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City or April 19,1995. It is composed of ammonium nitrate and 6% fuel oil. A similar mixture of urea nitrate and other materials was used in the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. 

Perhaps most infamously, Timothy McVeigh used it at 9 am on April 19th 1995, when the peace of Oklahoma City in the sleepy American Midwest was shattered by a bomb that killed 168 people when it went off outside a Government building. 

Unfortunately, there will always be individuals whose own perverted ideology motivates them to carry out deliberate acts of terrorism. In recent years, examples of such individuals have included Timothy McVeigh, who carried out the 1995 Oklahoma bombing, killing 168 and injuring more than 500, Theodore Kaczynski, the Unabomber (so called because he bombed Muiversities and airlines) and David Copeland, the Soho pub bomber. ...
