MCDM Software

The first is the web page of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making. It has links to MCDM software and bibliography. A number of this software is available free for research and teaching use. The second link is to the research group at Helsinki University of Technology. It has links to some free software, again for research and instructional use.

Besides goal programming, there are other approaches to solve the multicriteria optimization model for the supplier selection problem formulated in Section 6.4.2. They include weighted objective method, compromise programming, and interactive approaches. Interested readers can refer to Wadhwa and Ravindran (2007), Masudand Ravindran (2008, 2009) for more details. Masudand Ravindran (2008, 2009) also provide information on the computer software available for the MCDM methods. 

One of the problems in applying MCDM methods in practice is the lack of commercially available software implementing these methods. There is some research software available. Two good resources for these are as follows ...
