Manganese carbonate, decomposition

Mn02 prepared by thermal decomposition of manganese carbonate or oxalate11... [Pg.292]

Pure MnO is also produced from manganese carbonate (MnCOa) at a temperature above 200 C,. lnCO3 MnO + CO2. Similarly pure Mn02 can be produced in an inert environment by high temperature decomposition (above 850° C) ofMnSO4... [Pg.182]

Method for synthesis of monodisperse spherical-like manganese carbonate (MnCOs) particles by colloidal aggregation process is developed. Hollow polyelectrolyte capsules have been prepared by means of layer-by-layer absorption of charged polyelectrolytes on microsized MnCOs particles with the subsequent decomposition of a micrometer nucleus. The use of inorganic templates is a way for clean capsules fabrication. The manganese carbonate particles and capsules obtained were investigated by SEM, SFM, XRD, and confocal fluorescent microscopy. [Pg.349]

The enthalpy of absorption of 1- and 2-nitropropane on breathing mask cartridges made with carbon is such that the decomposition of the nitrated derivative can cause its ignition. This accident is aggravated when the cartridge also contains metal oxides such as copper (II) oxide or manganese dioxide. [Pg.295]

The violent decomposition observed on adding charcoal to cone, hydrogen peroxide is mainly owing to catalysis by metallic impurities present and the active surface of the charcoal, rather than to direct oxidation of the carbon [1], Charcoal mixed with a trace of manganese dioxide ignites immediately on contact with cone, peroxide [2],... [Pg.1631]

The oxide also can be made by thermal decomposition of manganese(II) carbonate or manganese(II) oxalate in the absence of air ... [Pg.549]

Manganese(lV) oxide may also he made by thermal decomposition of man-ganese(II) nitrate or from roasting manganese(II) carbonate in air ... [Pg.553]

Phenyl -tolyl selenide in aqueous suspension is boiled with potassium permanganate for several hours. The manganese mud is dissolved and the 4-carboxydiphenyl selenoxide precipitated by passing in sulphur dioxide. After filtration the precipitate is macerated with dilute sodium carbonate solution, the products of oxidation being separated in this manner into phenyl p-tolyl selenoxide and 4-carboxydiphenyl selenoxide. Addition of dilute sulphuric acid to the sodium carbonate extract causes the separation of 4-carboxydiphenyl selenoxide, which is crystallised from alcohol. The product is a microcrystalline powder, melting with decomposition at 253° to 255° C. Attempts to resolve it into optically active forms have failed the l-menthylamine salt melts at 220° to 222° C. with decomposition, and the d-a-phenyl-ethylamine salt forms feathery needles, M.pt. 194° to 195° C. with decomposition.3... [Pg.33]
