Manganese acetate hydrate

Subsequent reaction of porphyrazines 170 and 171 with Cu(OAc)2 resulted in the selective metalation within the macrocyclic cavity to provide the corresponding copper complexes 166 (62%) and 172 (47%). Treatment of pz 170 with manganese acetate and iron sulfate in dimethyl sulfate gave the dmso adducts 173 (70%) and 174 (85%), respectively (168). Axial ligation was also observed when other metals were incorporated such as cobalt acetate, nickel acetate, and zinc acetate to give the metal complexes 175 (83%), 176 (70%), and 177 (90%) as the hydrates. The axial ligand of... [Pg.563]

The thermal decomposition of manganese ) acetate 4-hydrate is discussed (57X to illustrate the use of the self-generated atmosphere. A two-step decomposition sequence has been proposed, similar to the following ... [Pg.43]

The features of the thermal analysis data show that metal acetate hydrazines decompose exothermically, in three steps, to their respective metal oxides. Manganese, cobalt, zinc, and cadmium complexes decompose through the formation of their corresponding metal acetates, while the nickel complex decomposes through a mixture of nickel metal and nickel acetate (Figure 3.5). The zinc complex however, loses both hydrazine molecules in a single step, while Mn, Co, and Cd complexes lose hydrazine in two steps. The metal oxide formation temperatures from the decomposition of metal acetate hydrazine complexes occur at 275-385 °C. These are lower than those reported for metal acetate hydrates, which occur at 350-400 °C. [Pg.95]

Oxidation by potassium permanganate is usually carried out in acetic or sulfuric acid solution. Isolation of the sulfone must include separation from the precipitate of manganese(iv) oxide hydrate, which, in the case of sparingly soluble sulfones, is effected by reduction of this precipitate by just sufficient sodium hydrogen sulfite solution or by sulfur dioxide soluble sulfones can be isolated by addition of water after filtration from the hydrated manganese oxide or by acidification and extraction with ether. [Pg.669]

Potassium nitridotrisulfate crystallizes as the 2-hydrate in long brilliant needles. It is very slightly soluble in water and not appreciably soluble in liquid ammonia. In aqueous solutions it gives no precipitate with manganese-(II), mercury(II), silver, cadmium, cobalt(II), copper(II), or iron (II) ion but yields a white precipitate with lead acetate. Potassium nitridotrisulfate yields a precipitate with barium ion only in basic solution. [Pg.183]

When treated with manganous sulfate and sulfuric acid, bromates give a red color initially, due to the intermediate formation of Mn sulfate. On boiling, or better on addition of alkali acetate, a precipitate of brown hydrated manganese oxide is formed ... [Pg.151]
