Management/managers professional advice needed

All tools necessary to implement a good safety and health program are more than adeqnate and effectively used. The management safety and health representative has expertise appropriate to facility size and process, and has access to professional advice when needed. Safety and health budgets and funding procedures are reviewed periodically for adequacy. 

Causes of low commitment vary dramatically, from interpersonal conflict on the job to emotional upheaval at home. Such causes can only be discovered through proactive listening. At times, the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of a motivational problem require special assistance. In this case, the best a manager can do is recognize a need for professional help and offer advice and support. 

Staff at Amadeus work with a variety of colleagues outside the school. They make some use of the LA s specialist teachers who are able to offer teachers and TAs professional support for children identified as having special educational needs. They also draw on the LA for advice on particular curriculum areas, such as literacy. The headteacher also draws on other organisations if she considers them able to provide more effective services, in terms of both quality and cost. For example, the school has hired its own speech and language therapists and physiotherapists to work with staff and children. The headteacher has also paid for business management consultants from the private sector to help her produce a school management/business plan.
