Management of the patient with OA begins with a diagnosis based on a careful history, physical examination, radiographic findings, and an assessment of the extent of joint involvement. Professional social workers are not usually responsible for documenting the medication history. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of keeping careful records and documentation that supports the service a member of the interdisciplinary team provides.
