Magnetisation measurement

X-ray diffraction investigation (Co-Ka radiation) was made on the powder samples for the phase identification both the parent compound and its hydride and to determine the unit cell parameters. The magnetisation measurements were carried out with a SQUID (Quantum Design MPMS 5-S) magnetometer from 5 to 340 K in magnetic fields up to 50 kOe. [Pg.486]

With any magnetisation measurements on single crystals it has to be remembered that it is the property of the crystal that is being measured. If the molecules are not all magnetically equivalent (with respect to the applied field) then analysis of the data to determine molecular properties, for example ZFSs, is not straightforward. Spectroscopic methods, where transitions between the Ms states are observed, give this information more directly. [Pg.295]

If the material response in AC magnetisation measurements is nonlinear, the magnetisation oscillations do not follow the fundamental susceptibility perfectly. The perfect sinusoidal AC field induces non-sinusoidal oscillations of the magnetisation which can be described as a sum of several sinusoidal components oscillating at the harmonics of the driving frequency [4] (Fig. 2.4)... [Pg.110]
