Magnetic field electric current

This is caused by orbiting electrons and is therefore a property of all matter. Applied magnetic fields induce currents in electric conductors, and this includes electron orbits and the induced currents in turn decrease magnetic field strength within the conductors. These are the shielding currents that are the basis of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. [Pg.2758]

Magnetic flux The field produced in the area surrounding a magnet or electric current. The standard unit of flux is the Weber. [Pg.2498]

Electromagnetics Concerning the interaction between magnetic fields, electric fields, and the flow of current. [Pg.241]

Electric polarization produced by an applied electric field (electric susceptibility) Magnetization produced by an applied magnetic field (magnetic susceptibility) Electric current density produced by an applied electric field (electrical conductivity) Heat flux produced by a temperature gradient (thermal conductivity)... [Pg.518]

The intensity of the magnetic field produced by eddy current is depended on electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability of the studied area. In case of a uniform structure, when the conductivity of the material is high, the intensity of the induced magnetic field is big and signal received by probe Hp is small. [Pg.19]
