Machining dimension

If the inspection shows that the valve seats are very badly damaged beyond lapping, re-machining will be necessary or it may be advisable to just replace these parts. If re-machining is to take place, then original equipment manufacturer s dimensions must be consulted for critical machining dimensions and tolerances.

Within the plane of a nonwoven material, the fibers may be either completely isotropic or there may be a preferred fiber orientation or alignment usually with respect to a machine or processing direction. In the case of thicker dry-laid nonwovens, fiber orientation may be randomized in the third dimension, ie, that dimension which is perpendicular to the plane of the fabric, by a process known as needle-punching (7). This process serves to bind the fibers in the nonwoven by mechanical interlocking. 

Most needled fabric is made ia flat form however, tubular fabric, ranging ia diameter from a few millimeters to papermakers felt dimensions, can be made on some machines. 

Final screen selection is such that the length and width dimensions match off-the-shelf machines in order to keep costs down. Operating the installed screen at a feed rate greater or less than the design rate results in a less efficient screening operation, because bed depth varies with feed rate.
