Formates. lron(Il) formate dihydrate [13266-734], Fe(HC02)2 2H20, is a green salt which can be prepared from iron(Il) sulfate and sodium formate in an inert atmosphere. The compound is slightly soluble in water and fairly resistant to air oxidation. The anhydrous salt [3047-594] is known. [Pg.435]

If an aqueous solution of an iron(III) salt is treated with alkali, a red-brown precipitate of iron(III) hydroxide is obtained this is probably best represented as FeO(OH). On strong heating it gives the red oxide Fe203. lron(lII) oxide, Fe203, occurs naturally as haematite, and can also be prepared by strong heating of iron(II) sulphate ... [Pg.394]

Table VII shows the Increase In cytochrome P-450 content In mlcrosomes from southern armyworm larval midguts resulting from dietary exposure to several cyclic monoterpenes ( ). It also shows a closely corresponding Increase In the rate of NADPH oxidation when pyrethrum Is the substrate (R) being oxidised. The microsomal cytochrome P-450 system Is arranged as outlined In Figure 6, consisting of a terminal heme-lron protein that In the oxidised (Fe3+) state binds the substrate (R). The complex undergoes two reductions during which bound molecular oxygen Is converted to free radical species, one of which Is Inserted In the substrate molecule, and the other one forms water. The reductions... Table VII shows the Increase In cytochrome P-450 content In mlcrosomes from southern armyworm larval midguts resulting from dietary exposure to several cyclic monoterpenes ( ). Other recent reports of the use of Mossbauer in the characterization of iron-containing zeolites involve the study of coordination complexes synthesized in zeolites. One such study carried out by Lunsford and coworkers (12) involved the study of tris(2,2 bipyridine) iron(II) complexes In zeolite Y. These materials were reacted with chlorine gas in order to oxidize the iron. Another study done by Banerjee (13) involved the Mossbauer analysis of lron(II)phenanthrollne complexes sorbed on zeolite 3A. These are most of the Mossbauer studies of iron-containing zeolites that we have found, although some earlier work has not been Included since reviews (14) are available. [Pg.303]

Iron(iii) oxide, a-Fe203, is used as a beam splitter and interference layer in optical devices [10]. a-lron(iii) oxide can be prepared by CVD using iron pentacarbonyl, Fe(CO)5 (10), as a precursor [55, 56]. The decomposition of ferrocene, Cp2Fe, (11) at... [Pg.374]
