The basic shape of curve was type A. In this case two distinct steps were seen the first was due to water of crystallisation loss and the second due to the oxalate decomposition. Type B showed no distinct end to water loss but the two reactions appeared as one continuous mass loss. Type C was found for samples with no water of crystallisation and showed only...

Unfortunately, most measures presently used in the safety field require loss-type aeci-dents to occur with a certain degree of severity before identification of accident problems is possible. (Tarrants, 1980, p. 319)... 

A low-pressure-loss type separator [IX-8] is mounted above the internal upper entry CRD as shown in Fig. IX-1. This new type separator, under development in a joint study by the Japanese BWR utilities and makers could decrease pressure losses by approximately 20% compared with the separator of a conventional type and effectively promotes natural circulation.
