Product must be stored at least 18 to 36 inches below sprinkler heads. This storage distance would be determined by local fire codes as well as the various commodities stored in the warehouse. A trained specialist should be consulted so that a set figure for proper clearance between product and sprinkler heads can be maintained. When product is being placed on racking or shelving, the sprinkler head can be protected by distance as well as the operator handling the load properly.
