Lithography printing plates

The general configuration of rollers from the ink duct to the printing plate is common in those processes which use paste inks, that is, letterpress, intaglio, and lithography. A typical arrangement is shown in Figure 99. 

Offset lithography is a planographic process and depends on the chemical modification of the surface of the printing plate so that only the image areas accept ink and the nonimage areas accept water. 

In their search for higher-resolution resists and potential replacements for KTFR, lithographers tested many photosensitive coatings, one of which was the positive-tone printing plate material from the Kalle Company of Wiesbaden, invented by Oskar Siiss, and based on the DNQ-novolac resist system described above. This material turned out to be the first DNQ-novolac resist used in semiconductor lithography. 

Diazo compounds are the photosensitive components for the contrast enhanced lithography (CEL) materials and the photoadd generator(PAG) for PS printing plates based on thermal crosslinking.
