Rofecoxib Lisinopril

One report has described a case of increased blood pressure in a patient taking rofecoxib and lisinopril (122). [Pg.234]

The blood pressure of a 59-year-old man with hypertension and normal renal function rose when rofecoxib 25 mg/day was added to lisinopril 10 mg/day (from an average of 135/80-85 to 168/98 mmHg within 5 weeks). Four days after rofecoxib was withdrawn the blood pressure was 127/78 mmHg. Rechallenge with the same dose of rofecoxib produced the same effect and the blood pressure fell when the dosage of lisinopril was increased to 20 mg/day on continuous rofecoxib. The authors did not report on the course of renal function. [Pg.234]

Clinically important, potentially hazardous interactions with ciprofloxacin, fluvoxamine, lisinopril, phenytoin, rofecoxib... [Pg.576]

The manufacturer of rofecoxib noted that in patients with mild-to-moder-ate hypertension, rofecoxib 25 mg daily, taken with benazepril 10 to 40 mg daily, for four weeks, was associated with a small attenuation of the antihypertensive effect (average increase in mean arterial pressure of 2.8 mmHg). Similarly, a case report describes a patient taking lisinopril 10 mg daily whose blood pressure rose from 127/78 to 143/89 mmHg when he was given rofecoxib 25 mg daily. His blood pressure was controlled by increasing the dose of lisinopril to 20 mg daily. ... [Pg.29]
