Linseed Poultice

N.A. Linseed oil, linoleic acid, hnolenic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, mucilage, linamarin.99 Relieve constipation, demulcent, laxative. Externally as a poultice for boils, bums. 

Xobelia Poultice. Linseed meal, i ounce slippery elm, I ounce powdered lobelia, ounces ginger, 1 ounce whiskey sufficient to make it. Good for all inflamed parts, as the side in pleurisy, liver complaints, rheumatism, lumbago. 

Chlorinated Poultice. Mix gradually 4J ounces linseed meal with 6 fluid ounces boiling water add 2 fluid ounces of a solution of chlorinated soda (chloride of sodium), applied to foul ulcers, Ac,... 

T91. Treatment of Styes. A stye ia a small boil which projects from iho eyelid, much inflamed, and very painful. The application of ico to tho part will sometimes check it in tho beginning. Apply a poultice of linseed meal, or bread and milk, and take at tho same time an aperient. If tho stye is ripe, punctnro it, and then apply spermaceti ointment... 

Add the linseed meal to the water, and stir them together so that a soft poultice may be formed. Mix with this half the charcoal, and sprinkle the remainder on the surface of the poultice. 

Mix the bran and linseed meal together, and then add the water, with constant stirring, so as to form a soft poultice.
