Library studio

The library design software, Library Studio , is part of a suite of software applications, Renaissance , developed at Symyx to design experiments, control robotics, integrate and control analytical devices, and capture and search experimental designs, methods, and data. [Pg.18]

The design of libraries is generally preceded by the selection of some rational catalyst concept, yet may include some degree of serendipity. Library Studio [31] served as the principal library design tool. To design a thin film library, the substrate or destination for the materials array is selected, in this case an 8x8 electrode array, as described above. The set of chemical sources (e.g., metals or metal... [Pg.275]

Fig. 11.8 Schematic of the automated primary high-throughput electrochemical workflow employed at Symyx Technologies for the combinatorial development of new fuel cell catalysts. Individual steps of the workflow include choice of catalyst concept, design of appropriate materials library using Library Studio [31], synthesis of electrocatalyst library on electrode array wafer, XRD and EDX characterization of individual electrocatalysts before screening, high-throughput parallel electrochemical screening of library, XRD and EDX characterization of catalysts after screening, data processing and evaluation. Symyx Library Studio software provides an environment for the specification of one, several, or hundreds of experiments. Chemicals, mixtures, and process parameters are defined and then combined in a recipe-style user interface. [Pg.245]

The Library Studio Developer s Kit further extends Library Studio by embedding Microsoft s Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) into the Library Studio application. With VBA, the user can import data from statistical packages, such as DOE, or export data for further manipulation, such as a bubble point calculation. Additionally, modifications to the Library Studio user interface are possible via custom add-ins, such as commands to produce automated designs or validate a design intended for a particular instrument. [Pg.245]

The input parameters define the compound quantities and positions, solvents, temperatures, and equilibration time. The first step of the work flow is to dispense the compound with an automated powder dispenser. The parameters from Library Studio are used to drive a powder dispenser from Autodose (Geneva, Switzerland). The next step of the work flow requires the liquid handler to take the parameters outlined in Library Studio and to dispense the solvents across the plate. Besides the routines to aspirate and dispense, the liquid-handler platform has the capability to stir and control temperature. Concurrently, while this part of the work flow is executed, the compound standards, LC methods, and calibration curves are generated for... [Pg.422]

All the programs have been written using FORTRAN 77. The programs have been tested using the MICROSOFT DEVELOPER STUDIO—FORTRAN POWER STATION. The programs call one or more IMS , MATH library routines which is available with above FORTRAN compiler. In general any FORTRAN compiler accompanied with the IMSL MATH library should be capable to run the enclosed programs without any difficulty. [Pg.410]
