Library management

For example, a library management system deals with loans, reservations, and stock control. A third-party component is bought to deal with membership. This is a conventionally written component (probably built atop a standard database) with an API that allows members to be added, looked up, updated, and deleted. 

It will not contain all the information. For example, the library manager knows each member s address, which books the member is currently holding, and what fines are owed. Only part of this data will be stored in the membership manager. 

The ultimate purpose of a type model is to support the action specs — expect to add to it, and eventually to drop parts as irrelevant. So for a drawing-editor, we might add the idea of a current selection. For a library management system, we might drop the business model s Librarian-Librarian supervises link, since the actions expected of the system never use it.

Different grades of staff referred to different media. The workforce referred most frequently to posters and then to noticeboards and leaflets, whereas safety representatives were more likely to cite booklets and leaflets and then the local office library. Managers referred to a much wider range of sources. The only departmental difference of note was that three-quarters of civil engineering staff referred to the Civil Engineering Safety Manual. This was the only departmental manual to be cited in this way. 

The tools described in the sections above show that practical and helpful software protocols for structure evaluation exist. As the molecular design community gains more experience not only with de novo design but also with 3D database searching and combinatorial library management, such analysis tools are expected to develop significantly beyond what is currently available.
