Structure Determination. Levy and co-workers have shown that it is possible to elucidate the structure of solute isopolyions (22) in those cases where the hydrolysis product is essentially monodisperse and soluble enough to permit preparation of 2-4M solutions, using x-ray diffraction. 

Herley, Levy and co-workers (Refs 208, 211, 224, 228, 240, 241, 244, 255 258) have subjected AP in all forms to various types of radiation. AP in small and large crystal form, powder, and powder-A1 mlxts have been exposed to gamma rays, X-rays, fast neutrons, and fast neutrons followed by a gamma-ray irradiation. 

One of the earliest attempts to exploit hybridoma technology for cancer treatment was the work of Levy and co-workers, who produced mAbs reactive with the idiotype expressed on malignant B lymphocytes obtained from individual patients (157-158). Although the need to produce custom-made mAbs for each patient has severely limited the feasibility of this strategy, these pioneering studies did provide early and convincing evidence that mAb therapy could elicit durable antitumor responses. 

Finally, one has to mention the work of Levy and co-workers who described the semi-synthesis of D-ring seco-rhazinilam analogues from (-)-tabersonine using an Emde degradation and /nCPBA oxidation [90]. The. veco-analogue 50 is only twice less active than rhazinilam on the inhibition of microtubules disassembly, illustrating that the absence of the D-ring is not strictly deleterious to the antitubulin activity [91,92].

A. Kutzehugg studied the films produced by a boiling soln. of sodinm thiosulphate and lead acetate. M. G. Levi and co-workers found that a soln. of potassium persulphate rapidly dissolves chromium as chromic acid, and a little gas is evolved the process of dissolution is slow with a soln. of ammonium persulpMte.

On the other hand, as suggested by de Levie and co-workers [80], the compact surface layer of thymine is a surface lattice formed by hydrogen bonds between flat oriented thymine molecules. This model can explain why methylation in position 1, 3, or 6, but not in position 2, causes the disappearance of the adenine capacitance pit. Positions 1, 3 and 6, contrary to position 2, involve hydrogen bond donors and acceptors. Substitution at these positions hinders the surface lattice formation, because the hydrogen-bonding capability is lowered. 

The morphology of the oxide scale that forms during erosion plays an important role, as noted by the extensive work of Levy and co-workers [47, 49,53,58,59]. Segmented scales have better erosion resistance than thick, continuous and dense scale, since in the former case the spalled area is confined to crystalline oxide only. This observation is validated by adding Si to the steel. Addition of Si to low chromium steel results in the formation of a segmented scale even at high impact velocity and thereby reduces the erosion rate substantially as compared to the same steel without Si [59].
