Leaf springs configuration

Hybrid Processes. There are also hybrid processes that have evolved to meet specific product needs. As an example, automotive leaf springs utilize a filament winding system to prepare impregnated fiber bundles that are then compression molded to final configuration.

The leaf valve (see Figure 36.11) has a configuration somewhat like the channel valve. It is made of flat-strip steel that opens against an arched stop plate. This results in valve flexing only at its center with maximum lift. The valve operates as its own spring.
