No details, but I believe that this is the same work as described by Adam McLean on his web site. This extract is taken from The Theosophical Transactions of the Philadelphian Society. This short lived magazine (four issues appeared during 1697) was edited by Francis Lee, the son-in-law of the English mystic Jane Lead who was the major figure behind the Philadelphian Society. Most of the articles in this magazine were published...

Molly is the manager of a chain pharmacy. She notices her normally enthusiastic lead technician, Lrankie, acting withdrawn and quiet. When Molly questions Frankie, she discovers that Lrankie and another technician, Jane, recently argued about scheduling. Molly quietly takes Lrankie aside and states, You are an excellent technician. Janes, Neumann and Sethna ° reviewed the general subject of solid lubricant composites in polymers and metals. They pointed out that the reduction in mechanical properties with higher concentrations of solid lubricant can be offset by the use of fibre reinforcement. Glass fibre is probably the most commonly used reinforcing fibre, with carbon fibre as a second choice. Metal and ceramic fibres have been used experimentally to reinforce polymers, but have not apparently been used commercially. To some extent powders such as bronze, lead, silica, alumina, titanium oxide or calcium carbonate can be used to improve compressive modulus, hardness and wear rate. 

The group electronegativity approach (Janes and Oldfield 1985) also gives a reasonably good fit to the data (apart from that for Mg-Si perovskite), leading to the linear relationship for Si(VI) compounds... 

What Kirwin (2004 following Janes, 2002) refers to, as integrity versus variety, has lead to compromising on stated aims.
