Magnetic susceptibility lanthanum

Nine derivatives of 1, [RSb9W2i086]16 (R = La-Gd, Dy, Yb), have been isolated and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, and infrared spectra. The four-line 183W-NMR spectrum of the lanthanum derivative is consistent with the D3h symmetry of the parent structure, but the emission spectrum of the europium derivative suggests a lower symmetry in the solid state (Liu et al., 1992). No structural determinations of these derivatives have yet been reported. [Pg.362]

The NMR spectrum of the lanthanum derivative shows two singlets for the two cyclopentadienyl ligands at 5 = 7.57 and 7.74 ppm in tetrahydrofuran and a multi-plet for the six CH2 protons at 4.24 ppm. Further characterization of the compounds was done by infrared and mass spectroscopy as well as magnetic susceptibility investigations. The X-ray photoelectron spectrum of the lanthanum compound gives binding energies of the La 3d-electrons of 833.0 eV, and of the Cl 2p,/2- and 2pj/2-electrons of 198.8 and 197.6 eV, respectively. [Pg.469]

EPR, resistivity and magnetic susceptibility of La2-x-vEr3,SrxCu04+6 were investigated by Kan et al. (1991). Samples with lanthanum concentrations 0.15 35 and erbium... [Pg.391]

The ESR spectra do not themselves yield estimates of the CEF parameters. However, when taken in conjunction with other data the wave-functions of the lowest levels can be accurately checked by the g-factor values which they yield. In the case of Pr in lanthanum ethyl sulfate, for example. Baker and Bleaney (1958) originally estimated the CEF parameters on the basis of the magnetic susceptibility data then available. Subsequently, these parameters have been determined from high resolution optical data for all of the lanthanide ions in the ethylsulfates. A complete listing of these is given, for example, in Abragam and Bleaney (1970). [Pg.489]
