In Japan, a zinc-bromine RFB was developed by Meidensha as a part of the Moonlight Project [46], In 1990, a 1 MW/4 MWh zinc-bromine RFB was installed at Kyushu Electric Power Company, and the system has completed over 1,300 cycles with an overall energy efficiency of 66%. Redflow Ltd. (Australia) also successfully demonstrated a zinc/bromine RFB unit up to MW scale with energy efficiency at nearly 74% [47]. [Pg.79]

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., and Kyushu University have been working together on multiple projects for developing intermediate-temperature SOFCs. Substantial technical advancement has been made in manufacturing SOFC units ranging from a 1 -kW class module to a scalable 10-kW class combined heat and power (CHP) system. The core technology is based on high-performance cells operable in a temperature window between 600° and 800°C. [Pg.183]
