Korea , legislation

Japan, South Korea and China, today the countries with the most extensive new ship building industry, have not yet implemented registration schemes for AF products but legislative initiatives are on the way and the coming into force of legislation analogous with e.g. the European BPD is envisaged within near future. [Pg.232]

Until recently there has been no over-the-counter (OTC) market as such in Korea, with the market divided between hospital sales (46 percent) and pharmacy sales (36 percent). The remaining 18 percent is covered by clinics, dental surgeries, etc. New legislation now being implemented will effectively lead to the rise of a more OTC-like status by 1999. [Pg.329]

Similar measures were then taken in Japan, Australia and Switzerland. In 1985, the European Community passed respective strict legislation for passenger cars with spark ignition engines, to be followed by South Korea in 1987 and Brazil in 1988. [Pg.4]

An overview of some important normalisation institutes active in the field of biodegradable materials is given in Table 5.1. Some other national standards institutes (e.g., in Korea and Brazil) are also active in this field. These institutes mostly work on a voluntary basis under an industry initiative. In many instances however, the original voluntary industry standards are subsequently taken over in legislation and other government documents. [Pg.141]

China, Japan, and Korea have legislative initiatives taking shape that are similar to the EU s, WEEE, and RoHS directives. This is the case for several U.S. states also. There is no escaping the fact that Pb-free soldering will be the mainstay of all future electronics interconnections. [Pg.36]
