Knights of St John

Jewish and Islamic scholars were invited to the court of Frederick II in Sicily, and the Knights of St. John opened communication with the East on the island of Rhodes. Due to this influx, Sicily, Spain, and southern France rapidly became multicultural communities. In these areas Jewish and other scholars began to translate Arabic and Greek texts into Latin, which made them available to the rest of Europe. One of the first of these texts was the Book of the Composition of Alchemy, translated into Latin by the Englishman Robert of Chester in 1144. By the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, the art of gold-making was integrated into Western mystical philosophy.

In addition, there is no question that the Canadian Institute of International Affairs — which has picked every Canadian foreign minister of this century — is not a Canadian institution, but the local branch of the British monarchy s most elite chivalric order. Canada s former Governor-General, Roland Michener, and current chairman of the CIIA is also a Knight of St. John. A board member of the Italian branch of the Order of St. John, the Order of St. Lazarus, is a member of the CIIA s board, Henry R. Jack-man. J.J. Jodrey, another board member, is also a Knight of St. John. 

Britain s imperial link to Nazi fascism is even more direct in the case of Bulwer-Lytton s other published work. His novel Rienzi, about the Knights of St. John, provided the text of Richard Wagner s first opera. His 1871 novel, Vril The Power of the Coming Race, contained virtually everything that Houston Stewart Chamberlain later had to say on racial theory Prof.

The point is also indisputably established that this has been and is the policy of the British government and, through the Most Venerable Order of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, the British Monarchy itself. 

After the destruction of the Knights Templar in the 14th century, the Knights of St. John appropriated the Templars Red Cross symbol into their own iconography.

Sir George Ripley, Canon of Bridlington Cathedral, Yorkshire, placed alchemy on a higher level than many of his contemporaries by dealing with it as a spiritual and not merely a physical manifestation. He maintained that alchemy is concerned with the mode of our spirit s return to God who gave it. He wrote in 1471 his Compound of Alchemy with its dedicatory epistle to Edward IV. It is also reported of this Canon of Bridlington that he provided funds for the Knights of St. John by means of the Philosophers Stone.

In fact, membership of the Knights of Malta (known as SMOM an abbreviation of its full title of The Sovereign Military and Hospitaler Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes) and American intelligence pre-date the CIA. Pierre d Aumont and seven other Knights Templar, disguised as woking masons, landed on the Island of Mull They held their first chapter on St. John s Day, 1307. Robert Bruce then took them under his protection. On St. John s Summer Day, 24 June 1314, they fought with Bruce at Bannockburn against Edward II.
