Kinetic equations time-dependent plasma

Gulyaev and Polak [Kinetics and Catalysis, 6 (352), 1965] have studied the kinetics of the thermal decomposition of methane with a view toward developing a method for the commercial production of acetylene in a plasma jet. The following differential equations represent the time dependence of the concentrations of the major species of interest. 

Equations (12), simplified by the assumption of isotropic scattering in exciting and dissociating collisions, represent the basic equations for studying many quite different problems in electron kinetics. In particular, the additional simplification to steady-state, purely time-dependent, or purely space-dependent plasma conditions allows a detailed microphysical analysis of various electron kinetic problems related to each of these plasma conditions. 

By the preceding representations, an attempt has been made to give, on the basis of the electron Boltzmann equation, an introduction to the kinetic treatment of the electron component in steady-state, time-dependent, and space-dependent plasmas and to illustrate by selected examples the large variety of electron kinetics in anisothermal weakly ionized plasmas. 

Even though the absorption rate constant (kf) defines the rate of absorption, its accurate determination is largely dependent on the adequacy of the plasma concentration-time data associated with the absorption phase of the drug. When a drug is administered orally, as a conventional (immediate-release) dosage form, or injected intramuscularly as an aqueous parenteral solution, the absorption and disposition kinetics can often be analysed in terms of a one-compartment pharmacokinetic model with apparent first-order absorption.
