Oersted was named a fellow of several learned societies, presented with medals, and awarded cash prizes. At home, Oersted became Denmark s leading citizen. He continued his research, but as an international figure he traveled extensively, became fluent in many languages, and met with the leading scientists of the time. He gave frequent public lectures and became a director of the Royal Polytechnic Institute of Copenhagen. It seemed that we had come full circle. I began my literary career at Edgewood with an article suitable for publication in the Journal of Irreproducible Results, and Fred was nearing the end of my career at Edgewood with an article equally suitable for the Journal of Irreproducible Results. It s likely that you will want to use a dialectical journal for other texts as well. Do not create a literary masterpiece If your professor has this ambition, that is his thing. You should deliver a simple and clear piece of writing short sentences, at most two statements per sentence, no swollen or unnecessary words (Gregory 1992). Your paper is read, if at all, only by the reviewers of the journal and by people who work on the same or a similar topic. They know the subject matter. Word bubbles do not impress them.
