Jordi reversed phase

Purification of the activation products (PMs). The methylamine activation product dissolved in methanol is purified by chromatography, first on a column of silica gel using a mixed solvent of chloroform/ethanol, followed by reversed-phase HPLC on a column of divinylbenzene resin (such as Jordi Reversed-Phase and Hamilton PRP-1) using various solvent systems suitable for the target substance (for example, acetonitrile/water containing 0.15% acetic acid). [Pg.284]

The Jordi Reversed Phase - DVB liquid chromatography columns use a highly crosslinked divinylbenzene polymer packing material. These coliunns give very good resolution for mixture of oleamide, stearamide, and erucamide, using water and acetonitrile as a mobile phase. [Pg.283]

Gels made in this way have virtually no usable porosity and are called Jordi solid bead packings. They can be used in the production of low surface area reverse phase packings for fast protein analysis and in the manufacture of hydrodynamic volume columns as well as solid supports for solid-phase syntheses reactions. An example of a hydrodynamic volume column separation is shown in Fig. 13.2 and its calibration plot is shown in Fig. 13.3. The major advantage of this type of column is its ability to resolve very high molecular weight polymer samples successfully. [Pg.369]

The Jordi Cl 8-DVB column has Cl 8 chains bonded to the DVB backbone. It is a nonpolar reversed-phase or GPC material recommended for applications that require a C18 bonded phase (Fig. 13.15). [Pg.376]

FIGURE 13.57 NOTE The importance of Solvent/column interaction using Jordi DVB columns cannot be over emphasized. We have found that a SOySO mbc of MeOH/ACN for the strong solvent Is adequate for many reverse phase separations and is better than either alone. We have now observed that the use of THF/ACN as strong solvent is often better than MeOH/ACN. In general Lewis bases (electron donor solvents) deactivate the aromatic rings and often dramatically increase column efficiencies. [Pg.400]
