Jobs Requiring Special Emphasis upon Safety, Form

Instructions Record the titles and code numbers of positions (occupations) under your supervision at the head of each section. In the chart, record the jobs performed by each position that require special emphasis on safety due to their hazardous nature. The idea is to develop a list of the most hazardous jobs performed by each position. [Pg.280]

The first component requires that a job be selected for analysis. Each supervisor in each department will require a complete listing of jobs. It is important to prepare a listing of position titles, hazardous jobs, jobs that have resulted in close calls, jobs that are nonroutine and jobs that have resulted in disabling or severe injuries. A typical warehouse may compile of list of between 75 and 150 jobs. [Pg.281]

In selecting the job to be analyzed, consideration must be given to the following. [Pg.281]

All jobs that have a history of producing many injuries are excellent choices for a JHA. It is a safe assumption that a job that has produced a large share of injuries in the past will continue to produce injuries unless changes are made to the job. The greater the number of injuries associated with a job, the greater the need to be a part of JHA. [Pg.281]

Jobs that have produced disabling injuries are also excellent candidates for JHA. Obviously, these jobs should take priority over those that have produced less serious or first aid injuries. Disabling injuries are very costly as well as devastating to the injured worker and his/her family. [Pg.281]
