Worldwide petroleum coke production now exceeds 127,600 tcme/day (141,800 ton/day) or 46,600,000 tonne/year (51,740,(KX) ton/year) and is continuously growing [1]. Jacobs Consultancy estimates that worldwide production of petroleum coke will exceed 58 million tonnes/year by the end of 2002 [6]. Jacobs reports an annual increase in petroleum coke supply, from 1996 to 2001, of 7.3 percent and an increase in supply from 2001 to 2002 of 11.3 percent [6]. The distribution of petroleum coke production conforms to the following percentages North America, 66.5 percent Europe, 17 percent Asia-Pacific, 9.5 percent South America and the Caribbean, 4.5 percent and the Middle st and Africa, 2.5 percent [7].

Sadler as a clever, practical and experimental manipulator in chemistry who had helped him to refurbish the laboratory. He was mechanically inclined and very interested in steam engines, including steam-powered vehicles, despite efforts by Boulton and Watt to hinder his work. In the late 1790s he set up a mineral-water factory near Golden Square, London, using the method published by Joseph Priestley in 1772. Sadler used an image of a balloon as an early version of a corporate logo to sell his soda water, but in contrast to the Drury Lane mineral water factory of the Swiss Johann Jacob Schweppe founded in 1790, ° it was not very successful. He also acted as a chemical advisor to the Royal Navy, but he was not often consulted and he remained in financial difficulties.
