A vigorous reaction ensues and the temperature rapidly rises to 40°C. After 40 min the reaction subsides and approximately 50-56 gm of polymer is isolated. The polymer is soluble in solvents such as chlorobenzene and nitrobenzene above 100°C. Evaporation of the solvent leaves a transparent flexible film (IR, =CH stretching, 3290 cm ) of MW approximately 7,000, intrinsic viscosity (nitrobenzene at 150°C) of 0.25 dl/gm. The polymer is stable at room temperature but an explosive reaction takes place upon ignition at room temperature. 

Microtubule polymers form spontaneously from isolated tubulin in buffer solution with GTP and Mg++ at a temperature of 30-37 °C. Sheet polymers form spontaneously from tubulin in buffer with GTP, Mg++ and Zn [7], The crystals must be exquisitely flat in order to yield good diffraction when tilted to high angles. This can be a limiting problem, since they are so thin and flexible. Careful attention to all of the preparation parameters and properties of the supporting film, though, produces specimens that can diffract remarkably well.

Whilst simple in concept, each step requires an understanding of environmental, physical and biological factors that may affect the procedure. Perhaps the most important of the three steps is isolation of the objects. Isolating an object requires construction of a suitable barrier around the object. This means any enclosure system must successfully maintain such a low level of oxygen for extended periods of time, ideally with a minimum of intervention and cost. The enclosure may be hard-walled or soft-walled. The soft-walled, e.g. heat-sealable oxygen barrier film, gives the flexibility to create any sized... 

Thin Film Cells. Future, lower cost solar cell materials will likely be more flexible than crystalline silicon and therefore may not require a rigid member In the module lay up. They will still need electrical Isolation and protection fradhesive layers as well as outer covers/insulators. 

The outer cover Is the tough, hard, soll-reslstant. Inherently weather resistant outer layer that protects the softer pottant layers from the effects of abrasion, dirt, and weathering. It augments the pottant In electrically Isolating the circuit and preferably acts as a UV screen if used on the front. It is usually a flexible or conforming plastic and may be a film or a solution-applied coating.
