Inventory conceptual model

Data analysis should focus on the development or refinement of the conceptual site model by analyzing data on source characteristics, the nature and extent of contamination, the contaminants transport pathways and fate, and the effects on human health and the environment. All field activities, sample management and tracking, and document control and inventory should be well managed and documented to ensure their quality, validity, and consistency. [Pg.602]

In order to implement a MPC strategy to optimize the operations of the FISC, the system has to be conceptualized as a dynamic entity in terms of states, input and outputs [5]. Some inputs will constitute disturbances to the model and some others manipulated variables for control purposes. A subset of the output variables will be controlled outputs whose values will be desired to follow some predefined trajectory or assume particular values in certain periods of the control horizon. For the FISC system, the state variables are the inventories of the different goods in the storage facilities fresh fruit (NPFS), packed fruit (PFS, PPFS) and concentrated juice (CJS, PCJS). The manipulated variables are the flows of all the streams of the system (Fig. 1). The FISC is considered to be a centralized system [6]. For the MPC implementation, the overall profit of the business is maximized in each time period for a certain planning horizon, subject to the mass balance model of system. [Pg.190]

Some of these stages have no exact parallels in the Mods and Rockers case, but a condensed version of this sequence (Warning to cover phases 1 and 2 then Impact then Inventory and Reaction to cover phases 5, 6 and 7) provides a useful analogue. If one compares this to deviancy models such as amplification, there are obvious and crucial differences. For disasters, the sequence has been empirically established in the various attempts to conceptualize the reactions to deviance this is by no means the case. In addition, the transitions within the amplification model or from primary to secondary deviation are supposed to be consequential (i.e. causal) and not merely sequential. In disaster research, moreover, it has been shown how the form each phase takes is affected by the characteristics of the previous stage thus, the scale of the remedy operation is affected by the degree of identification with the victim. This sort of uniformity has not been shown in deviance. [Pg.17]
